- In Europe, 38% of people said they interact with social media whilst watching TV. Interestingly, recent research from Becker shows that multitasking with two-screens at once is significantly linked to anxiety and depression. Further research is needed to understand whether techno-multitasking is the cause of this depression or vice versa.
- 47% of those asked said they participated in social media feedback to brands, with one in three social media users preferring social media feedback to telephone feedback.
- 51% of people use social media at work, which both raises concerns and hopes for productivity. In an increasingly connected world, social media helps individuals to keep abreast of new developments, yet may be both a security and distraction concern for employers.
- It appears we are becoming increasingly connected at ALL times – nearly a third of people aged 18-24 use social media in the bathroom!
